With each lap around the rink, Felicity gains both speed and a misplaced sense of confidence. There reaches a moment (and critical velocity) when what she's doing goes from "skating" to "actively trying not to fall." The two look similar, but are very different. The former avoids Imogen, the latter doesn't.
