MUGGLE STUDIES: GROUP PROJECTS!

Group assignments appear on a corkboard just outside the computer lab this morning, and it looks like even some muscheron have been given a project!
GROUP 1: Anthony, Chanel, Gemma, Laszlo, Willow
PROJECT: 3-D Maze / Exploration

GROUP 2: Adrian, Elijah, Fiona, Holland, Valkyrie
PROJECT: Point-and-Click Adventure

GROUP 3: Atlas, Gertrude, Jupiter, Kirby, Viola
PROJECT: Bejewelled-style match puzzler

GROUP 4: Cedar, Cicero, Howdy, Presley, Ramona
PROJECT: 2D Side Scrolling Platformer

GROUP 5: Armani, Claudia, Edgar, Hawthorne, Lionel
PROJECT: Dating Sim / Visual Novel

GROUP 6: Amanita, Penny Bun II, Morel, Chanterelle, Porcini
PROJECT: Text-based RPG

This group project will run until the end of April. Students are expected to produce a brief and functional game by the end of the assignment. Mr. Qualls and Dr. Ranui are both on hand to help out with coding questions, and Lionel Lovelace is encouraged to make himself available as a student advisor.

Some of these game types are quite complex, but let’s assume there’s some magic at work here, and don’t forget groups received zip files of all the additional resources they might need to make their games. Students are permitted to produce and use their own assets, instead, but Mr. Qualls reminds everyone to keep the scope small so your project can be completed. You going to listen to his advice?

They're going to fail something they should be good at just because they won't cooperate.

teachers keep pairing them together so they'll learn a lesson in cooperation, but really they're just learning new ways to burden the people around them
Edited (it's a lesson for the other kids to teach them that their future co-workers suck) 2020-03-30 21:14 (UTC)
