More intrigue at the bowling alley. I think those sketchy vines are spreading - I'm pretty sure I saw some under the door to the basement. And I'm really sick of Bob Dylan.
As your Charms TA: If your freezing charms suck come talk to me and I'll help you suck less. That seems like the best way to deal with them, unless I've missed something else somewhere.

[.....] We just talked. Mr. Trullinger told me a bit about what Pocket is. She's classified as a magimagicicada. He doesn't seem to know about her. He said the last known sighting of a magimagicicada hive was in the summer of 1989. I think all of Pocket's [...] siblings were wiped out. [...]
Mr. Trullinger said they were [...] eaten.
I don't imagine myself an expert. [....] Can you just ask me what you want to know?

I cannot BELIEVE you found out so muchWere you just going to KEEP IT TO YOURSEHow did you get either of them to talk about it?
You didn't mention Mr. Crockett, what did he have to say?
Wiped out/eaten by what?

[.....]
It's not that they don't want to talk about it. They're just being prevented from remembering. By some oath they took, I think. [...] Pocket mentioned an oath, at least. [...] They'll tell you what they can, if you ask the right questions.
Mr. Crockett said he doesn't remember much of his youth. I showed him a yearbook I [...] took from Mr. Huang's office. Everything that has to do with Mr. Qualls and his son is crusted over with lichen, just like the records in the library. I told him that there was lichen in his brain and it was keeping him from remembering how Mr. Qualls died or anything about his son. [...] That didn't seem to surprise him. He said everything they gave up, they gave up willingly. [....] He asked me to leave Mr. Potkin and Mr. Youngblood alone. [....] I think they were very close with Mr. Qualls' son. The [...] oath, or whatever, is probably affecting them more than others.
Mr. Trullinger didn't say, exactly. He didn't seem entirely like himself. Obviously, he was struggling to remember. [...] He mentioned that they were fighting 'the thing the locals from Paw Paw called up.' I think that's what he said.
[.....]
Eaten up by plants, maybe? [...] I don't know what happened to Paw Paw.

I can't imagine voluntarily giving up my memories for any reason.
'the thing the locals from Paw Paw called up.'? Interesting. Maybe that's how Paw Paw was destroyed.
Those do seem to be the two forces at play, don't they?

I suspect so.
You know, there is a mural of Elflock Falls & Paw Paw beneath the mural on the main street wall of Zippy Dip. It's signed LS & PA and Mr. Zebrowski doesn't want us to see it. I haven't been able to make any sense of that but [...] it might be worth looking into.
I think we should try to figure out what's in the bowling alley basement before we open any portals via human sacrifice. I used to believe Mr. Qualls' son was being held in there but now I think that was a
lietrick.
