Administrator Kwan comes over the magical PA system this morning during first period, the same as always. “Good morning, everyone! I hope you slept well!”

There are a number of things she goes over today:

• Howdy Stoppelbein is hosting a gillyball game this weekend, let’s all be there to support him this Saturday, even if you aren’t signed up to play.


• You may see some strangers around campus in the coming days! These friendly folks are here on behalf of the Bureau of Magical Beings to look into some incidents that have occurred on campus recently. You are under no obligation to speak with them if you are uncomfortable, but it would be helpful, regardless!


• It seems the muscheron are getting around, so if anyone has any issues with them rotting holes in the wood of their dorm, please let a staff member know immediately.


• While on the topic, if you happen to see any large purple flowers around campus, please do not touch them and report their location to staff immediately.


• Ah, not sure what to make of this one. Hold on... Bub wanted me to let you all know that if you’re … playing bingo…? that today is the last day to turn in your card.


• We all like a bit of fun, but let’s see to it that yesterday’s wave of pranks does not repeat. (Faintly, in the background, Mr. Berzelius can be heard shouting, “Get Ms. Altizer and I’ll brew you an—” There’s a soft thud, like someone getting punched in the arm)


• While we wish to respect Ms. Treetops’s request for privacy at this time, we want to assure everyone that she is recovering swiftly after having an adverse reaction to cold water yesterday afternoon. Mr. Trullinger will continue to cover Herbology classes for the interim.


• We’ll try to have the Surly Stump and the greenhouses back open to everyone by graduation! In the meantime, those areas are strictly off limits to all but those with clearance.


• We’ve been fairly lax about curfew all year, and we need to shape up! Please ensure you are on campus by 10PM each night, and back in your House by 11PM. On weekends, we’re a little more lax, with 11PM campus curfew and 11:30PM House grounds curfew.


• Cauli-tots in the cafeteria today! Mm-mmm! My favorite!
