The Wildgulch Juniors do love their Big Bed, but there's still work to be done before calling it a night. They're not yet ready to lay their heads down. There are more monsters to defeat and people to save (and bully).
Mary Grace stabs the vine (ROLLED 7) and finds the pen(cil) is mightier than the sword (and certainly mightier than the textbook). The vine lets go of MG and recoils in pain, whipping back and destroying the shine to "Oliver." A spectral form, almost recognizable to the Juniors, floats up, punches the vine once, and then flies out of the room. Moments later, the photopiano begins to play and continues to do so until they leave.
Presley tries the bonesaw again (ROLLED 6) and finds better success than last time. He isn't able to cut through, but does enough to get the vine to retaliate in a blind rage. (ROLLED 7) The vine misses the agile dancer and instead hits one of Zadie's potions on a nearby desk. The orange liquid burns right through it. Zadie is always saving the day, even when she's not here. Isn't she the best?
Not only can Wyatt take a hit, but he can dish it out too. (ROLLED 8) He yanks the weed clean out of the bed. It lands with a thunk on another desk, spilling frozen-Wyatt's nearly-spoiled milk on top of it, which causes the vine to hiss before falling silent. Maybe Wyatt has a knack for potions after all.
By the time Felicity bites the vine, it's dead. But (ROLLED 6), she gets an okay amount in her mouth. Ew. She spits it out. She hates veggies.
[The NPC has been defeated. Now, about that linchpin...]
