Good morning. The four of us will be allowed to leave the infirmary soon. Only a precaution keeping us this long, we're unharmed.
I'm sure you're all curious about what happened, and since I was already going to write down a detailed account of it for myself so I don't forget anything, I didn't see any reason not to share it. Open information channels are important to discovery.
I was having a dream. There were birds swooping and insects buzzing. There were vines coming out of the ground and it was hot. The trees caught fire or the vines were fire. The seeds were falling from the trees, but they were the bugs. I followed the birds, which split and coalesced into hooded figures. They led me out of the burning forest into a clearing where there was a boy. He said he was trapped "down here" and she makes them forget. The hooded figures said to set him free by finding the keys. He told me there are four. Fire, water, air, and something from "her". Something rumbled "they need to forget" and then I woke up.
I was wearing a mask and there were glowing figures around me. I couldn't move (paralyzed somehow, not tied). They were chanting and the light was coming from the floor as well, which became uncomfortably hot. Then the figures faded away along with the glow and we could move. We were in the bowling alley basement, and there was a hatch on the floor. Mr. Youngblood, Ms. Kwan, and Lir Liu came for us shortly after and whisked us back to school. I wish they would have let us look around a bit more first, as there might have been further clues.
A couple of other possibly noteworthy points:
- The masks we woke up in were white, cowled masks with keyhole mouths.
- There were glyphs on the ground, but I didn't get a good look at them. Perhaps one of the others did?
- Our kidnappers saw fit to provide our journals, but not other personal belongings (wands would have been helpful, or MY GLASSES)
- One of us was taken from each house. Could correspond to the elements mentioned with the keys?
There have been a number of odd occurrences this year, and I would like to make a project of cataloging that information, to investigate any possible overlaps. That's a project for another day, though, because I would like to do some research first as well as go through my own notes. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or relevant contributions to this particular occurrence, though.
