If Armani were giving this lesson outside, running his hand along a tree or a stone instead of plaster, Merlin might've been swayed. As it is, though, he just continues to look at the other boy a bit blankly. Even if he's right, energy and emotions aren't the same thing and this all seems a bit dramatic to him.

Still. He's not here to pick a fight. Armani's one of the few people that never picks a fight with him and the least he can do is try to return the favor.
