i LOVED island paradise and i really thought this would be similar but it's notttt. it's not bad, it's just not great. the mermaids too many detriments that outweigh the few cool things they can actually do. you can't eat fish without a negative guilty debuff, sleeping in the ocean takes forever to fill your energy needs, you can't have them pee in the ocean so you have to have them run to the public restroom which also gives a grossed out debuff, they get super dehydrated when they go to work and if they dry out then will die, and they're useless on any other map. the buffs are that they're really good at diving for rare treasure, they're instant best friends with dolphins (that don't really do anything), and they can sing songs that influence other sims' mood, and they can drown people to refill their own needs and it'll kill the other sim if you drown them enough times.
