Something weird happened to me.

I can get my own things.

Yeah, it's just kind of nice to get things from your friends sometimes.

If they have to tell you what they want, they could have just gotten it themselves.

But I'm still going to wrap it and everything.

If it's the thought that counts, isn't the implied thought that you don't know your friends well enough to pick out gifts for them, though?

I just think it's better for everyone to get what they want instead of something they don't?

Yes. That's why they should buy themselves what they want.

But a holiday about buying yourself things isn't as nice as a holiday about giving gifts.

I think that would be quite a nice holiday, personally. Isn't "self-care" all the rage these days?
