(no subject)

Does anyone have experience carving ice? I'm curious.

[Pre-Healer Studies]

You all did good work today. Settle in with something warm and pat yourselves on the back.

And if anyone needs to review the warming charms or poultice at any point, let me know. This wasn't part of the curriculum before, but I suspect it will be now.

Is it wrong to be frustrated I'm out of opportunities to practice Brackium Emendo?

[...]

Probably so, right?

But it feels like success is just out of reach.

There have to be other ways to practice.

Oh. Right, that makes sense.

Still. It's surprising there aren't [...] dummies. For practice. Maybe they're really expensive or something.

Nico is 100% correct and this is absolutely a moot point but—whose bones do we mean here?

Thank you Nico!

That was almost fun, wasn't it?? My hands smell awful from that poultice and I think I got some of it in my hair, but it was a bit of a rush there.

Oh of course, it's probably not encouraged to get hooked on the high of triage. I suppose it is nice to know we can handle ourselves in a sticky situation, though!

Is it weird that I don't really mind it? It reminds me of a job well done.

i try every time i rewatch edward scissorhands but it's hard :( i got mad and cheated with magic but i still wasn't happy with it. it's so pretty though !!! when done well

yes !! ohhh you muuuust see it, i think you'd like it!! edward (played by young, handsome johnny depp) is an artificially created person but his inventor dies before he can give him human hands and he has to live with scissor hands. and edward eventually joins society and falls in love with a girl named kim (played by young, beautiful winona ryder) but he can't touch her because he has scissor hands and it'll hurt her if he does. but he uses his blades to carve a beautiful angel ice sculpture in her image and she dances in the falling ice shavings that look like snow. i cry every time.

anyway, i last tried over winter break. (it's a christmas movie!!) the only good thing about carving ice sculptures is that they melt and there's no evidence of your failure.

edward started as an assembly line machine that was used to cut things with it's scissor hands. he only became a person after his inventor gave him a heart and then gradually added more and more prosthetic human pieces to him to make him look like a man. the hands were the last pieces until he was complete and the inventor had them ready, but had a heart attack before he was able to install them. edward tried to pick up the hands and put them on himself, but he accidentally destroyed them beyond repair with his scissors.

i wonder if mr. potkin has any experience in it? otherwise, i mean... practice makes perfect? it's just so frustrating.
Edited (nobody correct me bc i, ali, have not seen this movie in years) 2020-01-17 03:17 (UTC)
