Spring Break 2020

SPRING BREAK 2020

It's officially spring break, bay-bee, and wizards are not quarantined. That's right, we have the cure. But don't tell anyone. Shhhh.

Students are free to go and do whatever they want, just be back on campus by the 29th. Can't miss that Deeplurk-Wildgulch quidditch match! What do your kids get up to? Are they back home? Taking a trip? Visiting friends? Staying on campus? Going to the Big Pot?

HOW THIS WORKS

This is a basic catch-all for spring break scenes

I can't think of any rules

But maybe put a date in your title?

And like, maybe name your event or give it a location

Could be helpful

But like, no one's enforcing anything, you know?

Colleen asked me to do this and this is the quality she's gonna get.

Aristotle is bored. While he's developed genuine affection for Elflock Falls over the years, he always likes the town a little less when school is on break and the familiar bustle of student life slows down to a crawl. Lying on his back on his grandparents' sofa and staring into the bright, flickering phone screen, he sighs and closes the rhythm game he's been playing on for the last...who knows? Eternity? He spends a few minutes jumping restlessly from app to app, glancing at his empty inbox and his Instagram feed and the rest of the typical phone clutter before finally sending out a few text messages, including but not limited to:

"Finally, some class," has never in all the world been said about an Olive Garden before, probably. But they're fresh from a Pizza Hut buffet, and Chanel can feel the oil coalescing in her stomach. Not that it's any different, here. But there's free wifi. Which she seeks on her phone, sinking into a chair at the family-sized table, and waves an airy hand. "Do your worst. Get a salad." They won't. She knows it. She has to say.

Being a teenage boy, the depths of Adrian's stomach have not yet been fully plumbed. He has never been to an Olive Garden. This is very muggle-y. And exciting. "Just how endless are the breadsticks?"

"Let's find out," Mary Grace says as she wanders in several seconds later. Was she even invited? Who knows, because she sure as hell ain't going anywhere now. "Let's build ourselves a fucking fort."

Floorboards creak under the weight of Kermit's feet as he pulls himself through the second story window, but he's not too worried about it. He's a wizard! Not a hippo or anything. And this old farmhouse has been here a while. It's stood the test of time, it's thriving, and Kermit Creekmore can't deny his family name. He's not about to creak less.

"HEY GUYS!" he calls out the window to the other dumb idiots who thought this was a good idea. "THERE'S NOTHING UP HERE! It's GREAT!!"

"We should put a bunch of teenagers in it," Jupiter says, and then immediately sets to scaling the rotting latticework herself to join Kermit. She's nimble, and more importantly, undaunted by any warning snapping noises the makeshift ladder makes, so she's poking her head into the window in no time at all. "Oh, we could store so many teens in here."

"SOMEBODY! BRING! ME! TEENS!" Kermit yells, jumping and slamming his feet into the sagging floorboards with every word. "Put out a call, BRING IN THE REINFORCEMENTS!"

A little less nimble, perhaps, but Audrey is at least small. If something’s about to snap, she doesn’t seem to mind. “Ooh.” She muses, testing out a row on to the floor. “Party house.”

Jupiter is hopping back and forth between creaking boards, fashioning a very strange song as she dances. Suddenly, she looks up from her work to say, "We need a souvenir."

That's a nice way of saying she wants to steal something.

"Oh, oh, ohhhhhhh," Kermie agrees, springing and sproinging through the top floor like a frog. Weird. Why would he be hopping like a frog?

"We!" Jump. "Should!" Jump jump. "Steal!" Jump jump jump. "A COUCH!"

Kermit hits the ground shortly before his nose. His long, gray, dangling nose. Which looks great, considering it's the only part of him that doesn't look like an 18-year-old idiot boy.

I think this is her last drinking icon

Tony is home alone because Ms. Butts is a flake, so he'll probably throw a house party.

Viola is mostly at home but also lurking around Elflock trying to kill teachers and do crimes in the name of information.

Okay, my kids...

Felicity probably went home for a little to see her pops, but then would definitely try to meet up with her friends. I'd be down for some Quodpot practice. A Big Bed get together/sleepover. A trip to the Big Pot. A search for the "short cut" in the Bowling Alley. Showing up unannounced at a friend's doorstep. Lemme know if any of those appeal and/or you got another idea!

Lionel is... I don't know? Katie, do you think he and Zadie went home? If not, he probably spent a day or two at school when things were quiet and did some work. He might tag along with Thorntrail Seniors if they're up to anything. Maybe he goes on a solo-vacation, lol. He might dare to do a little Mr. Qualls around town. Again, if you want to do anything with him, big or small, just lemme know!

Mary Grace loves going home for about .5 seconds, and then she realizes her house is too fucking crowded and wants to peace the eff out. She will hop on any invite to a party or a beach or staring into the abyss, please get her out of northwest Texas. Oh and she definitely won Big Pot tix if anyone wants to go to the Big Pot with her. (But not Wyatt.)

Kermie is going to turn into an elephant and wants to explore abandoned buildings just ?because??. If any of his friends wants to join him they can get an elephant ride as soon as he figures out how to not step on them!!!

Cedar is currently stuck in bed.

Claudia went to the WizMall of WizAmerica. Otherwise she's in a big empty house in Kentucky or a big empty house in Louisiana and wants to make some bad decisions!!!

woohoo. spring break.

imogen is bopping around with merlin a lot this week. they're EXPLORING!! and also testing out a $$$ new broom her father gave her. she'll appear in chicago at deeplurk practices and anywhere else special mischief may occur.

xenia is at home in angeltread, but open to travel elsewhere and see her friends. ;o; this is the first year that extended time back in the community will be something she finds mildly depressing. please save her.
