Elflock Falls Community Market!

elflock falls community market
what's up? Sun sparkles across the Greentooth River today with temperatures climbing up into the seventies by noon. It's a great reprieve from such a rainy April, and just in time for Elflock Falls' first Community Market of the spring! Head down to the Riverwalk, where the path along the Greentooth has been transformed into an open air market for locals and traveling merchants sell goods ranging from fresh produce to pickles, paintings, crafts and antiques. Live music fills the air all day, and by evening the afternoon's fresh floral scent is replaced by the deliciously trashy smell of fried food as a variety of food carts set up shop on Elflock Falls' main drag during the dinner hours.

Students still have class today, but that may not stop them from skipping to scope things out. Head downtown today for some shopping and fun! There are still plenty of kids from other schools milling about, as well, giving the market an especially bustling look.

volunteer slots! Merlin watches as two kids from Ilvermorny help a crying little girl with dark braided pigtails rescue her kite from a tree. While the Ilvermorny students are still climbing, the little girl fades away, right before Merlin's eyes, leaving behind a lace ribbon kite tail.

Maisy buys a banana cream pie from a stall for the explicit purpose of pieing a Malstrom student in the face.

Wandering a bit off the main path Tony finds a curtained stall where inside an unfamiliar old woman is selling costume jewelry. All the pieces are lovely, and surprisingly on the nose: jeweled cicada broaches, pendants that look like fire, hair pins that look exactly like those strange purple flowers that sometimes spring up around campus. A strange feeling settles in Tony's stomach, and though they may want to buy something from the stall, they get the feeling that they shouldn't—Absolutely should not take anything from this old woman.
They leave in a hurry, and when they bring their friends back to investigate later, they find that the stall is gone. In the grass where it was is a business card: Embrace Infinity, a jewelry shop in Paw Paw, West Virginia—"Just north of the waffle house!" The card is lightly charred on one corner.

At the exact same time, Audrey Poke wanders into an identical tent on the opposite end of the Riverwalk. They decide to purchase a purple flower broach, perhaps against their better judgment. The transaction seems normal enough, except for the weird old lady, but as they step out of the tent, for a moment they feel as though they've walked into a burning house — impossibly hot, dark and bright at once, flames licking up around them. The feeling is gone in the blink of an eye, and the tent they've just walked out of with it. Everything seems normal.
how this works! Students do have class and other events today, but the festivities start up as early as 10AM downtown. Most stalls close by 7, and the hubbub wraps up around 10. The visitors from the Debate and Arithletes events are still in town for at least most of the afternoon and can be found milling about the community market.

We will populate the “STALLS” section with a few NPC shops for students to browse as set pieces, but clubs, groups and individual students are free to host their own stalls, as well! And you aren’t limited to selling handmade goods. You could do a fortune telling station, or a carnival-style RNG game!

Fill out the following form and post it to the STALLS section:

locations! THE STALLS: The length of Elflock Falls’ Riverwalk is lined with tents and stalls today selling all manner of goods and services. Take a peek and see what you find! Post your stalls here.

THE RIVERWALK: Bustling from morning to night today, the Riverwalk is lined with stalls and packed with people browsing and buying.

THE AMPHITHEATER: A brass band is playing from a little barge anchored just off shore of the riverfront amphitheater, and music echoes through the valley, but the best place to listen is right here.

MAIN STREET: Food carts start showing up early, but by dinner time Elflock Falls’s Main Street is packed with them, all gaudily decorated with bright lights and magical accouterments.

Evidently he was waiting for Lionel to make the first move. Something about him buzzes with that same taut energy, but it seems one string loosens when it sees the other wound so tight. The unfamiliar goof sweeps a hand toward the chair opposite him and greets Lionel in an overwrought spooky voice, like a friend having fun with him, "All are welcome."

The stranger with the cards taps his deck on the table, then leans forward, conspiratorial, sort of charming. "Rough stuff, huh? Where are we starting?"
