As Patrice settles in, one of the dog's eyes slits itself open for a brief (potentially irked) moment. It closes quickly enough, however, as the kitten formerly pawing at his face climbs its way onto the bridge of his nose to make its way over his head and in the boy's direction.

The puppy - a small thing with too-long limbs that it keeps tripping itself up on - growls and yanks harder on Des' ear and he lets out a low whuff of air.
