I need to ask someone to Homecoming. Publicly. Where other specific people will see.

If you're looking for someone to pay attention I'd go for loud but casual.
Maybe some bang and color like Zadie said, but you don't look anyone in the eye but your date, and don't really acknowledge them, either. An illusion of intimacy.

You want it to be romantic, but you also want everyone in the room know it's romantic.
All right. That's easy.

You just [...] Take some of the components you'd genuinely like. Add a little more flourish than you would normally. Throw in a few real and touching sentiments, but nothing too personal, and just make sure you're in a crowded place when you say it.
