I'm looking forward to the Orionid meteor shower on Monday.

According to some legends, fallen stars (actually meteors burning up in the atmosphere) are fallen angels. In others, they're rising human souls, freed from purgatory. In still others, a shooting star is the soul of a new baby coming to earth.

Perhaps the earliest origin of the myth that a shooting star can grant wishes comes from the Greek Astronomer Ptolemy, who wrote that the Gods peer down at the earth from between the spheres. He stated that while this happens, stars sometimes slip out of this gap, flashing towards the earth. Shooting stars are hence an indication that the Gods are now paying attention to whatever you would ask for.

Anthony De Witt would like for us to play a song tomorrow as a backing track while he asks Winifred Adler to the homecoming dance.

I'm open to suggestions, because saccharine pop isn't a genre I listen to often.
