In Freya's opinion, Jupiter looks dashing and far more prepared for Adventures on the High Seas. (Or, you know, a lake.) That plus her obvious enthusiasm means this plan can't fail, right?
"I bet we could. We don't have to bother her or anything. We can just observe." Freya puts down the oars in order to pull out her wand. Laying it flat on her palm, she mutters a quick, "Point me," and the wand spins round to point north. (Okay, she didn't really need to do this, but it just felt appropriate.) Freya hauls on the oars once again, realizes she's not built for hard labor, and enchants the boat to row itself. Much better.
"And if she wants to come over for a chat, what's the harm?" Jupiter suggests with a shrug, ignoring the fact that the harm is: plenty. There is plenty of harm in letting a siren come over and 'talk' to you.
Her grin bends mischievous, then she turns northward and stares off the edge of the boat. "Alright Navigator Norris, keep an eye out for naval officers who may want to put a stop to our adventure."
"Exactly! It could be educational." This is an excuse Freya uses a lot of the time. It rarely gets her out of trouble. "Besides, worst case scenario, Merlin's around and we know he's good at rescuing people from sirens."
They are, in fact, leaving Merlin (and the rest of the gathering) further behind as their boat moves steadily northwards. On Jupiter's instruction, Freya lifts her omnioculars and tries to subtly look behind her to see if anyone's noticed what they're doing.
"Oh, don't let him rescue me. I can't give him the satisfaction," Jup quips, still donning that wicked little smile when she glances over her shoulder again. "Seeker rivalry, you know. Gotta protect my honor and stuff." A wink. "I'll go down with this ship."
She tips her gaze up over Freya's shoulder and notices that they're putting a good bit of distance between themselves, the shore and even the rest of the boaters, and sits down to avoid drawing further attention by looking too obviously Up To Something.

"Let you drown. Got it." Freya nods solemnly, playing along. Then she adds consideringly, "It wouldn't be a bad way to go, actually. Dramatic. You'd be a Peckenpaugh legend!" Or a cautionary tale.
The water is calm and still. A dragonfly hovers just above the surface. Then, suddenly, a ripple and a flick underwater. Freya instantly leans out over the side of the boat. "Was that --"
