Going go a dance with someone doesn't mean you want a relationship with them.

no but sometimes you want to go to the dance with someone you're interested in potentially pursuing a romantic relationship with and the other person can sense your intent is for a DATE-date instead of a friend-date and they'll say no if they're not romantically interested in you. and then it's like, "ohh i asked too soon before we've established chemistry, now i've scared them off and they think i'm weird and gross."
