what's up? You'd be hard pressed to find a Peckenpaugh student who isn't familiar with Mr. Purcell's ancient pug Queen Guinevere, whether you've been blessed by her particular odor during DADA class or just seen her carried around campus on her favorite pillow. In honor of the Queen's 18th birthday - and not at all because a pile of notebooks and expectations were dumped on Bijou - a not-so-moderate birthday party is being held today along the shores of Lake Peckenpaugh. Ready those warming charms and prepare to step back into a simpler time when caravels ruled the seas, jazz ruled the airwaves, and stegosauruses roamed the Earth.

how this works! ⬥ You are probably invited to this party. Invitations included a long decision tree of questions ("Are you a Carrie or a Miranda?") to determine whether an RSVP was encouraged. If you are a hardcore proponent of broccoli, aliens, or Missy's mom, you most likely are not invited.

⬥ The party began after classes had ended for the day and ran until a respectable 7:30pm. The Queen is an elderly lady after all and needs her beauty sleep.

⬥ Each round of Queenie G Says! involves attempting to interpret and hastily act out the desires of an ancient pug. Fail to guess that this particular ear twitch calls for scratching your butt and Mr. Purcell gets to Flipendo your boat into the lake.

⬥ Queenie G Says! is an unmoderated game with no rolled results, but it's very unlikely that anyone getting into a boat today isn't getting dumped into the lake.

locations! ⬦ COURT: Inside a small cornflower blue pergola tent overlooking the lake, the Queen herself presides over the party from her place of honor floating on a miniature replica caravel in a kiddle pool filled with Squeaky Clean Scrub-A-Dub Peanut Butter-Scented Bubble Bath. She's paired her favorite stegosaurus costume with a bicorne hat this afternoon. First Mate Duckworth, her favorite stuffed duck, is at her side. Tributes to the Queen may be placed around the pool. Maybe your offering will even get a fart of approval?

⬦ ON THE LAKE: In honor of The Age of Sail being among Queenie G's favorite things, the rowboats have all been converted to small sailboats for the afternoon. Daring partygoers and those desperately in need of some extra credit in DADA are invited to hop in a boat and participate in a game of Queenie G Says! Fail to do what Queenie G demands and get dumped in the lake by Mr. Purcell. Good luck, kids! At least it hasn't snowed since Wednesday.

⬦ AT THE SHORE: Magically warmed cornflower blue tents have been erected along the shore, with the small central one housing the birthday girl. A large supply of towels, dog and human-sized Dog Wuggies (Wizard Snuggies), and hot drinks are on hand to aid those partygoers who dared to get on the lake for the queen's amusement. A regular refreshments table has also been laid out and if you've just turned to keto, today's your lucky day because everything on offer seems to be a cauliflower-substitute recipe. Musical offerings for the afternoon's activities are heavily biased towards Ella Fitzgerald and her jazz and lounge contemporaries. Spaces to sit, eat, chat, and even do a little dancing have been made within the tents. Watch your head though, because a few of those fidget spinner UFOs from Homecoming are flying around. (But there's absolutely no aliens allowed!)

island living is overhyped imo 😬 the mermaids are fun for a while but you don't get much use out of them outside of the island living map. the neighbors are also like..... super friendly and come over all the time with pork dishes they end up leaving in front of my house when i don't answer the door. they start to pile up and rot and my sim's constantly having to throw them out dksksksk

there's no significant interactions with the dolphins and the boats are cute but my sims end up leaving them lying around the map instead of putting them in their inventory and i keep losing them. it's an ok expansion but there's nothing about it i'm in love with. i got it bc russ was hawaiian and i wanted him to live on the island but even that got boring pretty quick

also last time i played, you can't swim in other bodies of water on other maps. it's just island living's map

oooooooooooooh thank you. i loved the island expansion in 3 (though omg the boat clutter), but island living seemed like an overall letdown. :|a

i imagine i'll eventually grab it on sale when i want to download something from the gallery that uses its items, ugh.

i LOVED island paradise and i really thought this would be similar but it's notttt. it's not bad, it's just not great. the mermaids too many detriments that outweigh the few cool things they can actually do. you can't eat fish without a negative guilty debuff, sleeping in the ocean takes forever to fill your energy needs, you can't have them pee in the ocean so you have to have them run to the public restroom which also gives a grossed out debuff, they get super dehydrated when they go to work and if they dry out then will die, and they're useless on any other map. the buffs are that they're really good at diving for rare treasure, they're instant best friends with dolphins (that don't really do anything), and they can sing songs that influence other sims' mood, and they can drown people to refill their own needs and it'll kill the other sim if you drown them enough times.

thank yooooou, this was actually super helpful. i can find stuff to love in most every sims 4 pack but this one just didn't seem like they got it right.

that said, i just remembered i still haven't actually played the vampire content and maybe the time has come to make the rumors about eddy true. :|a

yw!!! i love rambling about the sims. which is why UHHH i gave armani the same trait.

vampires are fun and actually challenging to rise up the levels. i always end up making a vampire in each new world and being a menace but now i've got spell casters and can do it all with a magic wand

Oh big same, I love these games and have done a lot of GooseSimming in the past.

Vampires looked really well done and the system is cool, so idk what happened that I never actually played them. I did explore the game system and thought that was pretty neat this time.

samesamesame. my kramchurch family was so cute 🥺 i made a new world for PP but right now i only have armani in it and all he's done is become a master spell caster and grown a beautiful greenhouse because he can replicate plants

they're sort of hard to play at the start imo so i usually only turn my sim into one once they're financially stable. but once they can go out into the sun, it's game over for all my sim's neighbors cause they're gonna get ATE

I was thinking I would send Eddy to uni and finally mess with the rocket science skill stuff :|a but he can be a vampire wizard in space eventually. #goals

I had the trash Paris girls and their partners in a city living apartment at one point and it was super cute to see them all come and go. 😭😭😭

oh no i just installed it and the school marching band version of the loading theme is so cute

i dled both magic and island living last time there was a sale but haven't done anything with it and i usually never do anything with new sim-types (vampires and plant sims and whatever else are wasted on me, someone who just wants to build weird shaped houses and then forget the save) but like

i can't build houses at all. i'm impressed by your weird shaped house already.

i built an underground youngblood compound once. it's an absolute mess and that's exactly how it should be.
