Any confusion about why one of the mechanical bees is heading towards him is quickly dismissed when Eddy sees Armani excitedly trailing after it. He catches it out of the air and turns it over in brief inspection of the mechanics before taking the note and reading it. The words earn a brief exhalation of amusement.
On the backside of Armani's note he writes "Yes" in his small, illegibly cramped handwriting and returns the note to the bee. Whose wings do not flutter to life, even though the recipient is literally right next to him. Stingy bee. Eddy hands it the required payment and then turns away from Armani, lobbing the mechanical bug into the air and well across the festival so it has to earn its dollar this time.

Armani moves to stand at Eddy's side, watching eagerly as he writes a note back to him. Not even two whole minutes ago did he go through this entire process himself, but now he needs to see how Eddy does it.
And it's way cooler, just like Armani knew it would be! He gasps when Eddy throws it and then "Whoooooaaa"s as he watches it sail far, far away. For several moments he just stands there, eagerly awaiting its return, and nearly vibrates from excitement as it nears closer. He jumps up to catch it out of the air, too, but it doesn't look as smooth and effortless as when Eddy did it.
"How does it know who we are???" he asks, holding the bug up to inspect it. It's mostly rhetorical-- he asks this same question about owls every time he receives a letter at the lunch table. There are many things about magic that just haven't lost their novelty yet.
Armani's excitement over the whole display draws out a small, very possibly cocky quirk of Eddy's lips. Because, yeah, okay. That was probably showing off a little. But that bee had already suckered a couple dollars out of them, so the least it could do was keep putting on a show.
Even if Eddy did know the answer to Armani's question, there's not a chance he could clearly articulate it. He doesn't, though, and while it may have been meant rhetorically, it needles at him. Just does doesn't seem like a satisfying answer. "Magic," he utters before he can stop himself, and judging by the way his face immediately pulls he realizes he's just stated the very obvious. He reaches up for the bug as well, feeling for any hidden compartments. "Ranui might know. Maybe Altizer." Sorry, Armani. You're very much in the presence of a nerd.
It's not like Armani was expecting an answer, but the obvious explanation of Magic does earn a laugh from him. "The mystery's part of the appeal, I think," he brightly proclaims, even though he was the one who asked.
He takes the slip of paper and then kisses the bee gently on the forehead. It's not enough to just let it fly off on its own. Armani tries to throw it like a football, just like Eddy did, but only ends up slam dunking it at full force right into the ground.
"Aaaa-- ahhh?!?" He reaches for Eddy's wrist, ready to flee the scene of the crime together.
