"Oh," is all Winter has to say in response to that at first, wide-eyed and blinking, watching that smoke waft away with something that got stopped at the intersection of curiosity and horror. "Oh my God," she elaborates with a loud and startled guffaw. It shakes her shoulders until she snorts. And, well, that just makes it worse as Winter's laughter gets away from her. Her expression screws up, disgusted, impressed and wholly perplexed by what's happening right now, but mostly? Just laughing. "Fuck. That was...so loud? And..." Her brows knit together. "Smoky? And disgusting. Are you okay?"
Sure, she looks grossed out, but also terribly amused. "Damn, if you're that hard to impress, r-remind me to never do any magic tricks for you."
Despite her disgust cohabitating with awe, Wyatt still turns a little bit pink in the cheeks. "Sorry," he says, through some giggles that are still muffled behind his fist. "I managed to get one of the mead samples, but... I think the one I got a taste of was like, dragon themed or something? Min gave me a tums for the fire breathing, after she took points, so the worst of it's over but. Not quite through yet. Apparently." He glances over at the jugglers. "They're doing fine. I'm sure your magic act would be fine too. Unless it involved making me breathe fire."
Winter's expression pulls up even more at Wyatt's embarrassment. Was she being rude? Oh, she was totally being rude. Shit. "No, it's...okay! Honest. Impressive you got past the age line." She squints, nose wrinkling. "Sad to say there's no muggle magic that makes you breathe fire. I guess you're safe for now."
"Yeah. Can't reveal my secrets, though. Might need 'em again some day." He
tilts his head. "What about muggle magic that makes it look like you're
breathing fire? What about smoke? I thought the whole thing was smoke and
mirrors."
"I guess I know who to c-call if I ever need to...seek entry into a contest before I turn eighteen." Her deadpan delivery is a bit undercut by the way she struggles to get the words out, but the point still stands, and she's grinning. "Oh, I guess there is fire breathing, that's less prestidigitation and more...t-taking your life into your hands. You take a bunch of alcohol and you spit it and then—" She stops, feeling embarrassed for talking so much about something that's probably stupid. She taps her fingers against her lips, steadying herself and thinking. "Ah, um, and for smoke, I guess there's vaping."
