Though she's not normally one for games, Holland was drawn by the bright lights and the promise of a plush bunch of roses that she certainly doesn't need, but she sort of kind of wants. She'd spotted them at a ring toss game, which is where she's not situated and is currently doing her best which is... ok, at least. But with pretty much unlimited funds and time to kill, it's not the worst thing to be doing. Still, losing isn't super exciting, so the second she spots Tony she tries to wave him over, standing up on her tip toes as she does so.
Tony spots Holland right away. He has a sixth sense for when he is needed. And it doesn't hurt that he towers over the crowd. It does take him a good while to navigate through the throng without bumping into anyone but he smiles and waves back to let her know he sees her. She can relax her tippy toes.
"Well hello, miss," he calls as he approaches, "What can I do for ya?
"Thank goodness you're here," Holland exhales once Tony's close enough, and it's not entirely clear if she's kidding around or is serious. (It's mostly the former. But not entirely). It is nice to see him, even outside of needing his assistance, but still she grimaces slightly as she fiddles with one of the rings in her hand.
"I'm not very good at this game. I mean, I'm alright. But not good enough. So..."
Tony stoops slightly to duck under the slanted awning, straightening up with only slightly hunched shoulders once he's well enough underneath. "Who's to say what's good enough?" He chucks her (very lightly) under the chin. "What is it you're tryin' to win?"
Holland peers up at Tony as he moves further into the booth, grimace turning into a smile since he appears ready to help. And she didn't even have to really ask! That means she doesn't have to feel bad, right?
Her nose wrinkles slightly at the chuck, but her smile remains as an indication that she's not too bothered by it. There's not enough makeup down there to unsettle, and Tony had been gentle enough anyway.
"This gatekeeper of success," she says with a bit of clear humor, finally, indicating the man running the booth as an answer to his first question. For the second, Holland points out the stuffed bouquet, again on unnecessary tiptoes, a habit she has around Tony. "They're really sweet," she adds, as if she needs to convince him that they're worth the trouble.
If scrunching her nose was meant to deter Tony from being patronizingly overfamiliar with Holland, it backfired. He finds the expression endearing, especially paired with a smile. And a subtle request for help. It's nice to be needed.
He sets about rolling up his sleeves, which is completely unnecessary to the task, but he thinks it makes him look cool. "So, what do I gotta do to get these here roses for the lady?" He directs this question to the man running the booth.
As Tony rolls up his sleeves, Holland settles back on her heels, placing the ring that had been in her hand on the counter and giving the boothrunner a very self-satisfied look. See? She's going to get those roses. Even if she's not doing it herself. She can't imagine he actually minds, given the amount of money she's already sunk into the game... which reminds her to slide payment onto the counter as well.
"Three hundred points, is all, with five rings," the man responds pleasantly.
It's middle of the road difficulty to obtain, with the pegs ranging in points from 10 to 200, but Holland is absolutely not middle of the road talented when it comes to ring tossing.
"I'm positive you can do this," Holland says earnestly.
