I've analyzed the moss that grew around the cicada shell. Determined it's quite ordinary. A common sphagnum moss found in the area. Whatever magic that made it grow at an accelerated rate has left it.

I'm still cultivating a small sample in my room. Just in case. It's healthy but not noteworthy.

I have plenty of hair from witches and also a tooth already. And I have frog hearts, mouse hearts, sparrow hearts. But no shepherd's heart. For obvious reasons.

Anyway.

I understand the challenge is to find a similar plant and/or mineral based replacement.

Ideas:

• Teeth as in the tines on a comb?
  
• Witch's hair... Honestly I think this is a harmless ingredient we can keep.
  
• Shepherd's heart. I don't know what yet.
